CHICKEN STROGANOFF in honour of my Chicko
Feeds 2 love birds

How gay do you have to be to start a lesbian cook blog?

Pretty gay. And by the looks of it, I am exactely that. Even though I don’t even exhibit the extreme signs of the u-hauling, undercut, tie wearing kind, I do have a girlfriend, I do have a haircut which remotely reminds of Justin Bieber and I do have a tumblr now. And I do like licking… lemons.

Lemons also go into the first recipe I chose to put on here, but that is only one of the reasons why it goes first. It is one of my personal favourites and also one of my girlfriend’s and at home it shares her name in a silly, soppy sort of way.

If you have a Chicken yourself, or a Bunny, or a Baby or a Sweetypoo or whatever gross, soppy name you call your loved one and you want to woo her with a quick, yummy meal, you should try this Chicken Stroganoff

This is what you need to make it:

  • 1 diced medium sized onion
  • 2 chicken breast fillets, cut into nuggets
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped or crushed
  • 1 big leek, sliced
  • 370g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 glug of white wine
  • half a tub of elmlea/single cream
  • the juice of 1 lemon
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika powder
  • rice
And this is what you have to do with it:
Fry the onion in a glug of oil on medium heat for 5 minutes, then add the chicken and the garlic.
When the meat isn’t pink anymore you can add the leeks and the mushrooms. Cook everything for about 10 minutes until it’s all nice and soft.
Add the paprika powder, a glug of white wine and half the lemon juice, stir well and cook for another 2 minutes.
Now add the elmlea/cream and season to taste!
That’s it. Easy, innit.

By the way, this recipe can easily be turned vegetarian by replacing the chicken with Quorn chicken style pieces. It’s just as tasty, I have tried it!

About:

Today's recipe is easy: Take a medium sized lesbian, put her in a pot with some lemon juice, a lot of time and a pinch of humour and stir well! Et voila la haute cuisine de la licking lemons!

So I am gay and I like writing and cooking, welcome to my blog!

The food I cook is not gay and you won't catch anything by eating it, so maybe a queer cooking blog is a weird idea. But you know. I'll give it a try.

Everyone is welcome to try the recipes I am posting here and I hope you all will enjoy them, gay, straight, queer, confused or unlabeled!

I pick up the recipes along the way. Some of them have been handed down to me like family heirlooms, other's I tried somewhere and stole from friends. Some started out in a different cook book/cook blog and have been changed into something I like by experimenting.

Ask me anything you want (Ever licked a lemon?) and dig in!
